Wines of Chile’s USA Executive Director Marybeth Bentwood was recently recognised as a ‘Top Woman in Food Service and Hospitality’ by Total Food Service (TFS) magazine. The accolade sees her listed among the female leaders in the industry in 2015.
The annual awards by TFS honour women who have made significant contributions to the food service and hospitality industry throughout the year in the New York City area. Bentwood was listed among other prominent women in the industry including Dana Cowin of Food & Wine magazine’s Chefs Club, Florence Fabricant of the New York Times and celebrity chef and restaurateur Alex Guarnaschelli.
“It’s an honor not only to be included in this incredible group of accomplished industry leaders but also to have the opportunity to represent such an exciting category,” said Bentwood. “With Chilean wines reaching new heights of both critical acclaim and sales growth in 2015, we look forward to bringing ever more exciting and relevant programs to wine lovers in 2016.”
The special mention comes after a good year for Wines of Chile in the USA, with a 14% increase in sales of wines in the $15-20USD category, and a 6.5% increase in wines over $20USD.
